Cotton is an annual plant in temperate climates that requires a long, warm growing season. Plants can reach three to seven feet in height. Flowers are short lived and give way to the bolls, which eventually open, revealing their valuable fibers and seeds.

William Ferris, an acclaimed folklorist and author, will be presenting his newest publication, The South In Color: A Visual Journal. The event is open to the public and includes a reception with light hors d’oeuvres, local craft beer, and live music by The Side Street Steppers.

The Harvest Party is our biggest fundraiser of the year, with good times guaranteed! Guests will enjoy live music from the Earnestine & Hazel’s House Band, dancing, classic Memphis food, a silent auction and, of course, an open bar.
